This leaves us with tired humans and cooped up dogs. By the time we get home and get something going for dinner, we have time to relax for a TV episode or a walk around the neighborhood. On days like this, snuggling with the pooches and an episode win out. Plus, it is always dark.
Of course, we have pretty lazy dogs and Tess absolutely hates the cold and snow, so they are pretty content with the snuggling.
One thing we always contemplate is getting someone to come walk the dogs during the day, even if just a few days a week, but the price really scares us!
Does anyone have a daily walker? Thoughts?
I used to have one for Ray when he was younger. It was mostly to get him out of his crate and have a potty break and not for an actual walk. For this I just had a gal who was a young mother and only worked part time who didn't mind running over to do this. That made the cost pretty low.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea! Maybe I can find someone around here!
DeleteI've never had the need for a dog walker although sometimes it would be really handy! I think that Melvin and Jake have a dog walker (or they used to) so you might check over on their blog.
ReplyDeleteIf I worked long days I would seriously consider a dog walker. Perhaps to save money you could find a local college student or even teenage to get them out. When I was in college I walked dogs for very cheap because I wanted some dog time when I didn't have one. :)
ReplyDeleteGood thinking! That was something we couldn't do with Edi a year or so ago, but now would be a possibility.
DeleteWe have a dog walker! She used to come Mon-Fri for mid-days everyday (when I was not working from home) but now she just comes on days when I need to be out (and so do the dogs). I always tell the walker that she makes me a better dog parent.
