Stress-Free Blogging

When I first started this blog, I was very sporatic about my posts.  I wanted to post everyday, but it just wasn't happening.  I would get frustrated with myself if I didn't make my posts.

Mid-April of last year I decided that trying to post everyday wasn't working for me.  It was stressing me out to post and frustrated me when I didn't - really just making things unsustainable.  So I picked a plan that would work: Monday-Wednesday-Friday.  This gives me two days to create a post, plus the weekend to stockpile if I have a particularly busy week.

We've been pretty busy in our house lately, and while we don't want to neglect our blog, sometimes it's just not in the cards to blog.  And I've decided that's okay.  I'll give myself a pass.  Instead of letting it stress me, I let it go.  And it really keeps this little blog we've got fun.

Do you find it hard to blog some days?  Do you have a schedule?

  1. We used to be good at doing Mon, Tues & Thurs with a Wordless Wednesday but lately life has had to take precedence over blogging. I actually have hundreds of drafts and even more ideas backlogged but my problem comes down to adding the photos. I don't really like posting without them and it takes me forever to select them, photoshop, resize and add them to the posts. I'd like to get more posts up but I do feel a lot better not stressing about forcing it if I don't have time or energy:)

    1. I don't even do much as far as editing photos, it's just taking time to TAKE them. I have a list of things to blog about, but just don't have the right photos for it.

  2. This philosophy of letting go works in so many areas! I don't have a schedule and i don't let it stress me out either! If I can blog everyday, great! If i can't blog at all in a given week, I know our readers appreciate that life happens. Love this post!

    1. Don't it though?! It's something that is not wired in my brain and I let things get to me like that a lot. But I decided the only way to make this fun was to KEEP it fun. I don't HAVE to blog -- I WANT to blog!
