PEDs: Winter Challenges

With spring right around the corner (we hope!), we've been preparing ourselves for the onslaught of dog that will be out with major cabin fever -- with symptoms of pulling, barking, and general craziness.

And while our pooches have had their fair share of missed daily walks, we're much better prepared due to our weekly PEDs walks.  This month's location is an off-leash dog hotspot in the summer, so isn't generally somewhere we frequent with the pooches.  But because spring is taking her sweet time getting here, we're able to take our dogs to enjoy the park.

There have been a few off-leash dogs that thankfully we never encountered along with a few runners and cyclists, so it's been a great training location with a few challenges while still setting them up for success.

Are you and your pooches ready for spring?

  1. Seeing your pack walks really makes me miss mine! It's basically been spring for awhile here so we are definitely ready, but we also need help on our walking skills! I wish we could come up there for pack walks to practice!

    1. Even though our pooches don't get to go every week, we are thankful for the ones we've been able to take them on. We would LOVE to have you!! If you ever find yourself up north....

  2. We're more than ready for spring here in Colorado, we've got some leash work to do so it will be nice to get out in the fresh spring air!

    1. We've been trying to be good this winter -- but it's so hard! We definitely have lots to do. Mostly on our (*ahem*Edison*) reactions to oh, everything!

  3. I visited New York recently and I saw so few dogs it made me depressed! I actually walked around thinking about them stuck in tiny apartments, succumbing to cabin fever:(

    1. I can imagine - especially coming from California! We have so many dogs in our neighborhood and although we know not all of them ever get regular walks, we miss seeing them out in their yards -- they are great distractions for our training walks!
