Tesla Won't Snuggle

When I first adopted Tess, she never left my side.

Then, very slowly, she started secluding herself.  It happened slowly so I thought at first I thought she was becoming more confident and independent.  Last winter, she spent so much time by herself I was pretty sure she had Seasonal Affective Disorder.

Even though she's snapped out of it, we'll find her lounging somewhere secluded.  And although she still is definitely a snuggler, it's always on her terms - and we have to sit very still so we don't disturb the princess.

Is you dog a super snuggler?

  1. I've got the full spectrum at my house! Super snuggler, sometimes snuggler, and rarely ever smuggler. I have to admit, I prefer the snuggling :)

    1. We prefer the snuggling, too!! Edi is a pretty good snuggler (especially now that he goes under the blankets. Tess is a great snuggler, but you can't move too much once she gets settled.

  2. That is hysterical! Melvin would love it if I could carry him around in a papoose. He must be touching me at all times. Jake is much more independent and he is also an 'on his own terms' type dog. But when he's ready, he will not take no for an answer!

    1. Yes, Tess forces her way under the covers when she is ready. She is definitely like Jake and puts herself in timeouts!

  3. Ray is a lap dog in the most basic of terms. If I am sitting, he is lying across my lap. If I am sleeping he is eiter "curled up" under the covers between my legs or spooning beside me. This leaves Julius to lie next to Ray on the sofa but at night he also has to be touching a human.

  4. Boomer and Dottie will only snuggle on their own terms which drives me nuts because it never matches up with my wanting to snuggle them!

  5. She's so cute! Kaya & Norman are always up for a cuddle but are content on their own too. At night they are usually squished up against me even though my bed is huge:)

  6. Mr. B really likes his alone space, but unfortunately, he lives with Miss M who LOVES to lay on dogs, humans, anything. She will get in what look like the most uncomfortable positions just to lay on Mr. B

  7. Turk likes to be alone too... he'll curl up NEAR us, but won't snuggle ON us most of the time. I try not to take it personally....
