After waiting for these babies to be custom made, they finally arrived!
The winning designs were BUBBLES for Tesla and BON VOYAGE for Edison.
And man, do they look good! We ordered 1.5" collars for each of them. Although the 1.5" is just a tad too thick for Tess, I liked it better than the 1" and it still looks fabulous.
The 1.5" collar looks perfect on Ed - it's just the right width!
Beyond their gorgeous looks, the collars seem really sturdy -- which is a good things because we all know these two play rough! As the weather is still pretty crappy, the pooches don't spend too much time playing in the yard; once the weather starts to break, I will have to be sure to take their new collars off to keep them from getting too muddy.
We are super pleased with our new collars, and think the pooches are just a little bit proud of their new duds.
Lainey has a couple martingale collars from Sirius and they are awesome!
ReplyDeleteWe used to use a prong collar too, but after receiving the martingale's we were able to do away with it. For a little while we still used the prong collar for vet visits, but we decided one day that we didn't want to use it anymore and have changed to a gentle leader head collar instead. It's been almost 2 months since we have used the prong collar and life is good :)
BTW ~ Both dogs are so good looking in their new collars
That's good news! We are really hoping these will help us make the switch (although, we have to actually work on it...), so Ed can attempt the CGC later this year.
DeleteThanks for the compliments!
Fenway loves his Sirius Republic collar so much, that he has two (and a bowtie AND a snood)! I still have to use his Gentle Leader Easy Walk harness if we go walking in busy areas, but can get away with just using the collar for shorter walks around the neighborhood! I love that the pressure when the collar tightens is even all the way around the neck, and it prevents him form being able to back out of it. Plus they're super stylish!!
ReplyDeleteThere are so many good patterns, we see a few more in our future, too! AND, we LOVE our snoods! I'm glad to hear you've had good success with the transition, we hope to too!
DeleteThey look so good! We had been eyeing the green bubble collar in the past, and how good does the Route 66 pattern look with the brindle?
ReplyDeleteThanks!! I knew the bubbles would win for Tess - it's just too cute. We weren't sure about the Route 66 pattern - we were worried it'd be too busy - but it looks so great!
DeleteLOVE them!!!! We love our Sirius Republic collars and the martingale is really great. The 1.5" is also a bit thick for Athena, so we prefer to have her wear her 1". Next time we'll know! I love that you let your blog readers vote on collars for the two. We might have to steal that idea for the next time we're ready to buy!
ReplyDeleteI think Athena and Tess are probably about the same size - that "not a small dog, but doesn't fall in the big category" kind of dog!
DeletePlease do steal the idea! It was really fun waiting for the votes -- and voters knew best, because I don't think we would have picked Bon Voyage for Ed, but we LOVE it!
The collars do look awesome! Hades wears a choke collar but can walk okay in his martingale if certain factors aren't present. (He walks better in daylight, without Braylon there, and minimal distractions.)
ReplyDeleteWe just bought a new Sirius Republic collar for him that has half chain, it seems to have about the same effect as the martingale.
I LOVE Ed's the most!
Yes - it has to be a perfect storm for Edi to walk nicely without his prong...but he's working on it!!
DeleteThe collars look great on them!
ReplyDeleteGreat choices, very cute!
