Best Friends Forever

We’ve noticed recently that Edison and Tesla are becoming better and better friends.

When we first brought Ed home, Tess didn’t know what to make of him.  He was pushy and rude and she was just not into him.
When we first started letting them play in the yard together, we had to watch very closely.  Tess would get tired of playing and become irritated when Edison didn’t leave her alone.  But we’ve noticed them slowly becoming better friends.  We still supervise playtime, but the dogs will play for hours together and neither dog gets hurt feelings.

They even get in trouble together.
Hey, no playing in the house!
We’ve found them settling down after a play session to snuggle...

And sharing lazy days.

We’ve caught them giving each other kisses

And sharing their sun spots

They’ve even started dressing alike!!

Are your pooches friends or just merely roommates?  Maybe a married couple?

  1. Yay! I'm so glad that Ed and Tess are becoming great friends. I especially love that they give each other kisses =)

P.S.- I think we are going to make a flirt pole this weekend thanks to your post!

    1. It's a rare sight (they like to act like they don't like each other), but it's so ute when we catch them! It's been a long time coming, so we are glad they are getting along like they've always been together!

And yes! I think Thean will love it - you will have to let us know how it goes!!

  2. Such cute pictures! I'm glad they are settling in with each other :) Don't you just love when they kiss each other? Our dogs do it and Lainey even does it to the cats! Gets me every time!

  3. That's so sweet of them! I wish Boomer and Dottie could be more like that. Instead they like their own separate couches to nap on.

    1. Don't get me wrong -- they like their space...well, Tess does. But they are a far cry from where they began. Truth be told, Tess just kind of goes with the flow and doesn't turn any canine away, but doesn't seek them out either...if that makes sense.

      Spoiled pooches! Their own couches!

  4. Oddly enough Hades and Braylon were way better friends in their earlier years together. I hate even saying it out loud because it makse me incredibly sad to admit. I want them to be best buddies but Braylon is way more interested in being Hades friend than he is in her lately. He prefers to keep to himself or have our attention. He still loves her but he's never been a big cuddler and he doesn't play with her like he used to. I have started to think we need a third dog to keep Braylon happy!
That's so nice their relationship has grown, they seem like a great team. :)

    1. Also I said "early years" meaning their first year. They've only been together two years. :)

    2. It's so funny how it seems like it's been forever! We've only had Ed for a year and a half...sometimes it seems like he's always been here!!

  5. They are so darn cute together:) I often ask my friends and family, "how can Norman stand Kaya all the time?" She's pushy, she hogs the toys, she is dominant in play, she whines when she's bored or excited and kisses him all the time. And yet Norman has always seemed to think she's the bee's knees. I think of him as a younger brother who thinks his big sister is oh-so-cool and she actually adores him.
